Remove Write Protection From Pendrive and Memory Card – How to Guide

Don’t you just hate it when you buy a Pendrive or a Memory card and there’s nothing you can do to it? Whether it comes with software on it, or you’re just trying to use it for any other purpose, you should have the right to change things up however you like.
In this guide, you will be shown how to Remove Write Protection From Pendrive and Memory Card. It’s a fairly simple process, so be sure to follow each and every step carefully. This guide is for information purposes and we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device in the process.
Before we proceed, what is Write protection exactly? Write Protection is when the manufacturer locks the device down from being written on and prevents unauthorized access to add, change or delete the files on the device. While the uses of write protection is a good thing because it prevent files from being tampered with and the manufacturer can make sure all users are getting the same files, but it’s also very inconvenient. To remove this protection, to you will need to format the drive.
In this guide, I will show you exactly how to do that. Follow each and every step carefully, please. Windows platform is used for the purpose of this guide.

How to Remove Write Protection From Pendrive ?

Step 1: Plug in your pendrive into your USB 2.0 on your computer. In order to make sure the computer has read your pendrive, you can go down to your bottom left on Windows, you will notice a small USB drive icon. If you click that, it will say “Removable Disk.” This means that the pendrive has been read successfully.  You can take a backup of your files from the pendrive or Memory card, Because we here are going to format it Completely.
Step 2: Next we need to open up command prompt. You can do this by simply going to “Start”, then just search for “Command Prompt”, or you can simply just type in “cmd” and command prompt should pop up.
Step 3: In the command prompt, type in the drive letter of your pen drive with a colon at the end, like this: “ F: ” but without the quotation marks.
Step 4: After putting in the previous command, type in “format” without the quotation marks. Here’s how to do it: “format F:” and then press “Enter.”
This should get the process started to remove write protection. Make sure that you are entering the right command with the right drive letter. If you have more than one pen drive plugged in, make sure that you do select the right one as you can accidentally format the wrong drive, causing loss of data.
Step 5: After the process is complete, proceed to closing command prompt.
Congratulations! You’re successfully removed the write protection on your drive.
If you have any questions or concerns, please write them in the comments section below. Let us know how we did and how things went for you.

intelliPaper reveals disposable, paper-based USB drives

USB drives have become so prolific in recent years that they've become practically disposable. Now, one company has created a different type of flash drive that can literally be crumpled up and thrown in the garbage. With an embedded silicon chip, intelliPaper seamlessly turns an ordinary strip of paper into a fully functioning USB drive.

We've seen concepts for a USB stick made out of paper before, but the design team at intelliPaper has now patented technology that allows electronic components to be layered into a regular sheet of paper with USB contact points exposed. Once it's ripped from the full sheet and folded in half, the paper can be inserted into any USB port to access the files it holds, just like a typical USB drive. Files can be added and removed like any other storage device, and the drive can be reused for as long as the paper and contacts remain intact.

The paper used is about as thick as card stock, and the embedded chip can hold 8-32 MB of data – the team has not decided on a fixed capacity yet, but it will be within this range. So far, the developers have implemented their technology in mail-out flyers, promotional brochures, and business cards, among other items. Uploading data to a fresh card does require a special reader and some software to avoid damaging it, which intelliPaper offers to customers. If someone doesn't want to risk damaging the paper drive itself, intelliPaper also communicates wirelessly with any near field-enabled smartphone or tablet.

Since intelliPaper is so inexpensive to produce, it's not hard to think of plenty of uses for such a paper-based USB drive. Tourists could send out postcards with vacation photos uploaded onto them, couples could send wedding invites with a digital version attached, and schools and businesses could hand out multiple pages of documents uploaded to a single sheet of paper.

The company mostly ships intelliPaper to customers in bulk, but it is also preparing to release products aimed at individual consumers (greeting cards, note cards, and so on). The design group recently finished an Indiegogo funding campaign that was intended to speed up this process, but only raised US$6,480 of its $300,000 goal. Nevertheless, the team did manage to find a U.S. distributor and plans to release USB-enabled note cards, called "DataNotes," in mid-2013.

How to Fix Upside Down Videos in VLC

VLC will fix the upside down video and play it immediately in the media player. Moreover, with VLC, you can use two methods for resolving this glitch. The first one is through the Transform feature and the other one is through Geometry-Rotate.

To start, open the VLC program and click the Tools menu.
tools menu
Next, press Effects and Filters.
effects & filters
The default display is Audio Effects. Hit the Video Effects tab to proceed to the next step.
video effects
Under Video Effects, check the Transform checkbox.
rotate 180
For this illustration, because we want to resolve the upside down video, we will select Rotate by 180 degrees.
You also have an option to rotate the file by 90 or 270 degrees, or flip it horizontally or vertically.
rotate modes
You will see the result immediately. This is the original video.
original video
This is the resolved movie. After the fix, you can continue playing and watching the video.
rotated video
The other way of patching up upside down video using VLC is through the Geometry-Rotate feature.
To access this tool, you still have to click the same commands used in the first method. Go to Tools >Effects and Filters > Video Effects. Instead of going to Basic, browse to the Geometry tab.
Next, check the Rotate checkbox. In here, you can see the Angle needle. This needle will be used to rotate the video according to your preferred angle.
rotate angle
This is the default angle of the video when you enable Geometry’s Rotate feature.
rotate video angle
Move the needle downwards to rotate the upside down movie by 180 degrees.
correct angle
You can see the effect in real-time. This is the result file rotated by the Angle’s needle.
angle rotated
Remember though that VLC’s fix is not permanent. Once you close the file and play it again, you will still see the upside down video.

What is Google Glass?
Google Glass is a wearable computer with an optical head-mounted display (OHMD) that is being developed by Google in the Project Glass research and development project, with a mission of producing a mass-market ubiquitous computer.Google Glass displays information in a smartphone-like hands-free format, that can communicate with the Internet via natural language voice commands.

Features of Google Glass

Record videos, take pictures
Just say the word and Google Glass will take a picture or record a video – you will never have to touch the hardware. The photos and videos will be stored on the 4GB flash memory of the device, and can also be shared on social networking websites or emailed.

Show messages
Google Glass will show you text messages as well as emails you receive and allow you to reply to them via voice commands.

Find information
If you are in the habit of Googling things a lot, you will find that your task has been made easier by the new Glass. You simply need to ask a question and the device will pull the answer from the internet. For example, you can ask when Taj Mahal was built or to give you a few photographs of the monument and the device will provide appropriate replies on the small screen in front of your eye.

Show maps
The widely used Google Maps are integrated into Glass, so that users will be able to chart the course of their journey or look up locations or establishments via voice commands.

Live video sharing
Google Glass can show the world what you are seeing – live! If you are attending a family function, your child’s school play or a concert, you can share the feed with your friends and family in real-time and make them a part of the experience.

Fix Desynchronized Video and Audio with VLC

There are few things more aggravating than trying to watch a video whose audio is about one second too slow. Here's a quick fix for the problem in VLC.

You should use VLC Media Player to do that. I'll list the steps below,

01. Go to Tools -> Track Synchronization.

02. Beside the label called "Audio track synchronization", must be a timer.
If the audio is delayed, type the gap between the lip-sync(in seconds) and put a -(minus) before the time. (It should look like -1.000, if the delay is 1sec.)

If the audio is hastened, just type the number of seconds without minus sign.

03. Then check whether it's synchronized properly or not. If not succeeded, then adjust the time.

Note: 1.567 = 1 -> Seconds; 567 -> milliseconds. The period(.) is really important if the audio sync time differs in milliseconds.

 OR

while playing in VLC
press K   ( for 1 sec delay 1000MS )
